Today IS a Fairytale

airy tales are the doorways to  mystical and imaginary lands that intrigue the individual and spark fantasy. They allow us to feel a variety of emotions from hope, to love, to desire, and even sometimes terror,  fairy tales are truly an art form in themselves.

 For this piece, I decided to bring us all back to our childhood and have some fun with fairy tale looks.  Some are colorful, some are whimsical, and some are even a little scary, but I hope you'll have as much fun with them as I did. So lets begin how they normally do:

Snow White's look is all about color.  She uses hues of yellow, blue, and red to really grab your attention and capture her innocence.  Our Nextdoor interpretation was really inspired by the colors and shape of Snow White's classic look.

You cannot have a Princess without a villain, and in this look, I attempted to capture the Evil Queen.  I used a Shawls Smith Scarf as a headpiece and one of David Kahn's simplistic black tanks to capture the look and tie everything together.

First, if you haven't seen the new movie "Red Riding Hood", see it, its most excellent and Amanda Seyfried does an excellent job of capturing this fairytale.  For this look, we at Nextdoor have a fantastic hood piece, great for visiting Grandma, or even going to the beach.  This look was amazing and fun to put together!

Malefecant's look is all about jagged edges and dark tones, so for this piece I choose one of David Kahn's simple black pieces with an uneven bottom to capture the look.  I also used a KBG studio bag with a hint of red to really show her menacing presence.

This look was more inspired by the tones used in Ariel's outfit over the shape.  Her signature colors are a violet and green ,which I think was perfectly embodied in this piece.
