Weather: Life's Metaphor

  Today, I woke up at my older sister Erin's apartment in The Falls and was graced with vision of looking outside, and seeing this: 

Yes, the snow plow decided to completely ignore the fact that my car was sitting in front of the apartment building and also decided that it was a good place to put all of its snow backup. Needless to say, there were no shovels because it is an apartment building, so I used my Uggs and a car scraper to get myself out of the hell the snow plow decided to leave on my doorstep.   Now, all of us have had something similar to my situation happen to them, in actuality and metaphorically.  Sometimes in life, the weather were dealt with isn't spring or summer, but snowy, wet, and rainy.  A lot of people go outside, see weather like this, and give up.  They hide away in their homes, to afraid to leave, and refuse to dig themselves out.  The key to defeating weather like this, and not running away is using your tools.  Sometimes it may be a pair of Uggs and a car scraper, but other times it may be friends, family, and coworkers.  The point is, when bad weather comes, face it head on, and brave the roads.  It may be slippery and you may slide a little, but in the end, your going to reach your destination with a big smile on your face.:)

NEW Semester NEW Style

Between the months of September and December, there is only one word that helps me to get through those long, strenuous nights of homework, term papers, and exams.  A word that at first seems like a distant fantasy, but then, as the months progress, becomes ever clearer and more possible.  Interim.
